Instructor Jessy started martial arts when he was 12 years old in the style Kajunkenpo. By the time he was 15 he competed in several open tournaments in Washington, placing 1st and 2nd in sparring and forms, as well as earning his black belt. After completing his degree in criminal justice, he received training as a security officer and the state academy for corrections officer. He also traveled to and lived in Indonesia for several months and had the opportunity to train in Silat while in Bali, where he met his wife. He's also trained in Tae Kwon Do, and had the opportunity to train with a Shoalin monk while visiting China. He continues his training at Family Black Belt Academy and is currently a 2nd degree black belt.
